Senior Physiotherapist Job Description

Job Title: Senior Physiotherapist Department: Physiotherapy Job Type: Specific Purpose Contract Hours: 35 hours per week Blackrock Clinic is the leading and longest established private hospital and clinic in Ireland.

Role Purpose: To practice within the Codes of Practice, Rules and Guidelines set out by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and comply with hospital policies and procedures.

Develop and co-ordinate the Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy service at the clinic.

Personally, and professionally accountable to the patient.

Be personally accountable for own actions at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation
  • Develop and co-ordinate the Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy service at the clinic
  • Review and update Cardiothoracic Protocols, information sheets and all relevant documentation as required
  • Instruct and teach junior staff, students and other team members with regard to Physiotherapy Cardiothoracic procedures
  • Keep abreast of current advances and research in Cardiothoracic's to ensure that a high standard of care is maintained by the physiotherapy service
Qualifications/Experience:
  • The candidate must possess any of the following qualifications: BSc(Hons)degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Dublin BSc in Physiotherapy from the Royal college of surgeons in Ireland
  • BSc Physiotherapy (Hons) from the National University of Ireland
  • Diploma of Physiotherapy of the University of Dublin or the National University
  • BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Limerick Physiotherapy qualification validated by the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapy Membership or of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists
