Bridge Engineering Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer to lead our thriving Bridge Design Team in Dublin. As a dynamic and ambitious professional, you will have the potential to progress to Technical Director with support from our senior management team.

This role offers an outstanding opportunity for career advancement and personal growth. You will be responsible for leading a local team of engineering professionals, driving business development, and managing tender bids for professional services contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership: Lead and manage a local team of Bridge engineering professionals, providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
2. Business Development: Drive business development and manage tender bids for professional services contracts, ensuring the success of our projects.
3. Resource Planning: Conduct short, medium, and long-term resource planning to ensure project success, allocating resources effectively to meet deadlines and budgets.
4. Design Oversight: Provide design input and oversee the delivery of structural aspects of projects, ensuring quality and excellence in our work.
5. Project Management: Manage medium and large-sized projects, ensuring quality, timelines, and budgets are delivered, and stakeholders are satisfied with our services.
6. Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with internal and external parties, including clients and stakeholders, maintaining strong relationships and trust.
7. Mentorship: Mentor and develop junior team members, helping them grow professionally and personally.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

1. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead projects from a technical perspective, motivating and inspiring team members to achieve their best.
2. Excellent Communication Skills: Experience in client-facing roles, with excellent communication skills, able to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
3. Previous Staff Management Experience: Previous experience in staff management, able to guide and develop junior team members.
4. Proactive Approach: A proactive approach with a track record of delivering high-quality services to clients in both the public and private sectors.
5. Bridge Design Expertise: Extensive knowledge and experience in bridge design, inspection, assessment, and rehabilitation, with proficiency in Eurocodes and structural analysis software.
6. Experience in Multidisciplinary Teams: Proven experience working within multidisciplinary teams, able to collaborate and contribute to the success of our projects.
7. Ireland and/or UK Experience: Experience in the Irish or UK market, familiar with local regulations and standards.

Requirements:

1. Level 8 Honours Degree: Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, obtained from a reputable institution.
2. Relevant Experience: Relevant experience as a Bridge / Senior Bridge Engineer, on Irish projects post-graduation, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality services.
3. Chartered Status: Chartered Bridge Engineer (CEng, MIStructE, or equivalent), demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development and excellence in your field.
