Job Title: Senior Data Architect

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Architect to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering group, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable data architectures that support our business needs.

In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and develop data solutions that meet those needs. You will be responsible for ingesting large volumes of data into our data lake, developing data pipelines, and ensuring high-quality data is available for analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement data storage models, defining rules for data governance, quality, and lifecycle management.
  • Work closely with peer engineers, information architects, product owners, and data platform stakeholders to ensure high-level designs.
  • Ingest large volumes of data into our data lake, providing frameworks and services for operating on that data.
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborate with cloud infrastructure, information security, and data administration teams on shared items of work.
Qualifications / Skills
  • Exceptional coding and design skills, particularly in Python and preferably Spark. Knowledge of Java is beneficial.
  • Proficient with SQL.
  • Experience working with large data volumes, including processing, transforming, and transporting large-scale data.
  • Familiarity with AWS services like Data Pipelines, EMR, Glue, Redshift, S3 etc., or equivalent services.
  • Knowledge of dbt, HBase, Apache Spark, Spark streaming, Kafka, Scala, and similar technology stacks.
  • Familiarity with data warehouse concepts such as star schema and data de-normalizing patterns.
