Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our mobile house-call practice. This is a full-time role ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and close client interaction outside of a traditional hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have previous veterinary technician experience, be proficient in animal handling and restraint, and have strong organizational skills and attention to detail in recordkeeping and inventory.

  • Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats during in-home visits
  • Assist the veterinarian during exams, minor procedures, and mobile surgical prep/support
  • Perform basic labwork, including sample collection and handling for diagnostics
  • Manage and transport medical inventory and supplies; ensure vehicle is stocked and organized
  • Handle filing and medical records with accuracy and discretion
  • Provide exceptional client communication, including education, follow-ups, and care instructions
  • Support the veterinarian with overall logistics, patient comfort, and workflow during house calls
  • Load, unload, and transport equipment; navigate stairs and various home environments
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous veterinary technician experience is required
  • Proficient in animal handling and restraint, especially in non-clinical environments
  • Comfortable performing lab tasks and assisting with minor mobile procedures
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in recordkeeping and inventory
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Physically able to lift equipment and maneuver in and out of homes
  • A self-starter who can take initiative while following veterinary guidance
