The Director of Nursing is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the nursing department and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
About This Role:
This role involves leading and managing a team of nurses, ensuring that all necessary policies and procedures are in place, and collaborating with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the nursing team
- Ensure compliance with Health Act 2007 and related regulations and standards
- Develop and implement policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve goals
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 3 years' experience as a DON / ADON within the last 6 years, post-registration qualification in healthcare management or equivalent, and 5 years relevant post-registration nursing experience and a minimum of 3 years (within the last 6 years) caring for older persons. You will also need to be a registered nurse on the live register of nurses maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland, NMBI, and have effective communication skills with residents, relatives/visitors, employees, management, and external bodies.
