Collections Care Leadership Role

IMMA seeks a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the care, documentation, and accessibility of 4,500+ artworks and growing archival material.

Job Overview

This pivotal management position is responsible for leading registration, documentation, logistics for loans, displays, and conservation. The successful candidate will oversee the implementation of our new Collections Management System and ensure best-practice standards in collections care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage registration, documentation, and logistics for loans, displays, and conservation.
  • Oversee the implementation of our new Collections Management System.
  • Manage budgets, audits, and reporting for conservation and storage.
  • Support strategic planning, policy development, and MSPI accreditation.
  • Line-manage the Preventative Conservation Coordinator and supervise/mentor interns and fellows.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a third-level qualification in Museum Studies or a related field, extensive experience in a registrar or collections management role, proficiency in CMS platforms and digital tools, strong leadership, communication, and project management skills, and a commitment to public service values, inclusion, and continuous learning.
