Job Description

AIG is a leading global insurance organization with over 100 years of experience in providing property casualty insurance, life insurance, retirement solutions, and other financial services to customers worldwide. Our General Insurance business includes one of the world's most extensive property casualty networks.

We are seeking an experienced Financial Lines Underwriter to join our team in underwriting new and renewal business, developing relationships with brokers, and assisting management with reporting.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and technical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to handle multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

  • Meet individual underwriting expectations to help the team achieve its budgeted financial objectives.
  • Underwrite within agreed decision-making standards, limitations, and underwriting authority.
  • Assess the desirability of risk through analysis of submissions, regular contact with broker, thorough review of proposal, and review of claims history and general company information.
  • Provide accurate monthly Management information including, but not limited to, submissions, bind rate, average premium, and total premium as required.

This role requires the ability to network and build relationships, exhibit sales-oriented behaviors, and provide excellent service to brokers. The successful candidate will also need to generate new business by expanding broker networks, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market.
