Senior Clinician

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our dynamic team.

Job Overview:

This is a maternity leave contract position that offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our service users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough assessments and treatments at clinics
• Analyse voice patterns using technical equipment and examine the factors involved in producing speech
• Collaborate with service users, family members, carers, and other staff in setting treatment goals
• Develop and introduce new ways of working with staff teams to prevent future speech and language difficulties
• Deliver training to staff teams to enable them to support service users' recovery
• Refer service users to other specialists when necessary
• Liaise with professionals such as behaviour specialists, psychologists, doctors, and ear/nose/throat (ENT) specialists
• Keep detailed clinical notes and draft reports on client symptoms, treatments, and progress
• Teach exercises to help eliminate speech problems
• Attend clinics and participate in relevant meetings, case conferences as appropriate

Requirements:

• Qualification: Level 8 Degree in Speech and Language therapy
• Registration with CORU
• Qualification in FEDS assessment, treatment, and care planning
• Knowledge of standards and legislation relevant to the area
• 4 - 6 years' experience as a Speech and Language therapist
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members, management, external contractors, and other key stakeholders
• Strong leadership skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and judgement making critical decisions and recommendations
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• Good listener and open to learning from others
• Excellent organisational skills, self-motivation, and self-starter qualities
• Excellent verbal and written communication and IT skills
• Dedicated, reliable, and flexible approach to work
