Full Stack Software Developer

The Role

This role will be part of a collaborative engineering team, focusing on the design, architecture, and implementation of software components and solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with microservices architecture, clean code principles, and best practices in web development.

The Full Stack Engineer will play an essential role in delivering new products and improvements to provide customers and partners with future-proof, flexible, and scalable solutions while maintaining high quality standards. This involves analysis, design, automation, engineering, research, and development, as well as implementing design patterns and principles.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain server-side and client-side applications using React/Nextjs, TypeScript, Java, Spring Boot, ensuring code quality, efficiency, and adherence to best practices.
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data structures and algorithms to optimize application performance.
  • Ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end components to deliver fully functional systems.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers to create user-friendly interfaces and ensure a seamless user experience
  • Design and implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecture to facilitate communication between different components of the system
  • Utilize design patterns to create modular, reusable, and maintainable code.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
  • Write efficient, testable, and reusable code
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Implement security and data protection measures.
  • Proactively identify areas for innovation and optimization.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline. Key skills include proficiency in React, Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript/JavaScript, experience with front-end build tools and package managers, RESTful API design, and implementation of microservices architecture. Background in relational databases and experience with unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing frameworks are also required. Additionally, expertise in containerization technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and modern authorization mechanisms like JSON Web Tokens is desired. Strong problem-solving and communication skills, as well as a strong attention to detail, are necessary.

This is a full-time position with standard working hours of Monday - Friday, standard business hours. A hybrid work model allows individuals to split their monthly work hours between the Letterkenny or Dublin office and telecommuting from a home-based office.
