Job Title: Senior Physiotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Physiotherapist to join our dynamic interdisciplinary team. As a key member of the Children's Disability Network Team, you will provide high-quality physiotherapy services to children and young people with complex needs arising from disability.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in paediatric disability, neurodevelopmental, or related field. They should also possess strong knowledge of family-centred and interdisciplinary models of care.

The Senior Physiotherapist will work closely with children, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues to design, implement, and evaluate individualised physiotherapy treatment programmes. They will use a family-centred and goal-directed approach, empowering families as key partners in service delivery.

About the Role:
  • Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with a wide range of developmental and physical disabilities.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate individualised physiotherapy treatment programmes, in collaboration with children, families, and interdisciplinary colleagues.
  • Use a family-centred and goal-directed approach, empowering families as key partners in service delivery.
  • Contribute to team-based planning for children with complex presentations.
  • Support children and families in diverse settings, including clinics, homes, preschools, schools, and community environments.
  • Provide training, education, and advice to parents, carers, educational staff, and other professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a key member of the CDNT, working in partnership with other professionals (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, Social Work).
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and service planning.
  • Provide clinical supervision, support, and mentorship to basic grade physiotherapists, students, and support staff.
  • Engage in service development, quality improvement initiatives, and implementation of best practice guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
Requirements:
  • CORU registration as a Physiotherapist.
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in paediatric disability, neurodevelopmental, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in assessment and management of children with physical and developmental disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of family-centred and interdisciplinary models of care.
  • Experience providing clinical supervision and/or mentoring.
