About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional care and support services. As a Social Care Worker, you will work closely with our residents, their families, and our multidisciplinary team to ensure that each individual receives personalized care that meets their unique needs and promotes their autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting their independence, self-advocacy, and community integration.
- Develop and implement individualized plans, ensuring that each resident's needs are met and their goals are achieved.
- Work collaboratively with the Shift Lead and Person in Charge to ensure the smooth operation of the household, maintaining a homely and supportive environment.
- Coordinate medical appointments, manage medication, and maintain accurate records, adhering to organizational policies and procedures.
- Administer prescribed medications, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to data protection policies.
- Participate in regular staff meetings, training sessions, and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date with best practices in social care.
Requirements
- A minimum of a Level 7 on the QQI Framework - BA in Social Care Studies or equivalent qualification in Health or Social Care.
- 1 year of experience working with vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities.
- An understanding of current policy and developments at national and sectoral level in relation to Social Care within disability services.
- Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
- Proficient IT skills relevant to the role, including Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- A full driver's license and availability of own car is an essential requirement.
