Threat Detection Specialist

We are seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Threat Detection Specialist. This position involves investigating security alerts and enhancing security alerting processes.

The primary duties include:

  • Triaging, coordinating, and executing initiatives to improve the security posture of our platforms
  • Handling security alerts, updating documentation, and defending against potential threats to operations or sensitive information

The Threat Detection Specialist will play a vital role in protecting our digital infrastructure from external and internal threats. They will collaborate with experienced cybersecurity professionals to develop their skills and knowledge.

We value passion and a strong understanding of the work involved. Prior experience as a cybersecurity analyst is preferred, but candidates with industry involvement are also considered.

Candidates must demonstrate capability in at least one cybersecurity domain and possess effective communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and respond to security alerts
  • Continuously monitor networks and systems
  • Monitor High Value Assets (HVAs) to ensure their security and integrity
  • Prioritize and categorize events based on severity and impact
  • Document security events and manage workflows for incident alerting and investigation
  • Contribute to program and detection improvements
  • Coordinate with stakeholders and partner teams

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Relevant certifications such as BTL1, SEC+, SSCP, GISF, GSEC, GSOC, AttackIQ Academy, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals
  • Cross-domain certifications like CCNP, Network+, Linux+, CISA are preferred
  • Involvement in home labs or cybersecurity communities
