Job Summary

This Healthcare Assistant role offers the opportunity to work in a values-led environment, providing person-centered care to individuals in their own homes. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with personal care activities
  • Preparing meals and planning nutritious diets
  • Providing mobility assistance and support with daily living tasks
  • Managing continence and providing catheter care when necessary
  • Offering companionship and engaging in recreational activities

Key Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting clients with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Preparing meals and planning nutritious diets that meet individual client needs
  • Providing mobility assistance and support with daily living tasks
  • Managing continence and providing catheter care when necessary
  • Engaging in recreational activities and offering companionship to clients

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience working as a carer or healthcare professional
  • QQI Level 5 in HealthCare (full 8 modules) or minimum 2 modules in care of the older person and care skills
  • Good knowledge and experience of working with older persons and critical illness clients
  • Flexible approach to work and ability to adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A full clean driver's license and own transport essential
