Job Opportunity

This is a full-time position for a Care Support Worker to join our multi-disciplinary team at a leading healthcare provider.

Purpose of the Role

The Care Support Worker will work as part of a team delivering high-quality person-centred care to meet all care needs of residents via the Named Nurse concept.

The role reports to the Nurse in Charge and is responsible to the Director of Nursing.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Supporting nursing staff in delivering high-quality care to residents
  • Getting to know residents' interests and needs, providing attention, support, and companionship
  • Promoting mobility and assisting residents to maintain their personal appearance and hygiene while maintaining dignity
  • Communicating with nurses regarding residents' conditions or daily life
  • Assisting residents to eat, drink, and achieve physical comfort
  • Participating in social activities and developing good relationships between residents' families and staff
  • Contributing to cleanliness and Health and Safety in the home
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Nurse in Charge and management
Qualifications/Skills:
  • QQI Level 5 qualification in Healthcare or equivalent (in process or completed)
  • Experience working in healthcare (with HIQA standards knowledge) preferred
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Reliable and professional
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Positive outlook and fluent level of English written and oral
