About the Role

The National Genetics and Genomics Office has a pivotal role in implementing Ireland's strategy for accelerating genetic and genomic medicine. A comprehensive Five-Year Plan focuses on coordinating a national approach to genetics and genomics, ensuring patient and public involvement and partnerships, building the genetics and genomics workforce, enhancing clinical services, and strengthening infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing leadership and expertise in bioinformatics to key stakeholders
  • Ensuring successful implementation of the strategy
  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders and service delivery partners

Qualifications include a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or Genomics, at least 7 years of post-qualification experience in laboratory/clinical bioinformatics, strategic leadership experience in genetic and genomic bioinformatics services, and published work in peer-reviewed publications.
