Network Infrastructure Engineer Opportunity

xAI is seeking an experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and operating large-scale networks that support the company's mission to create AI systems that can accurately understand the universe and aid humanity in its pursuit of knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience designing and operating large-scale networks with at least 5 years in the Ethernet AI/HPC space. They will also have a deep understanding of congestion control on Ethernet, as well as Infiniband, and be familiar with AI training and inference workloads and how they operate on the network.

Additionally, the successful candidate will have expertise in creating a portfolio of metrics for performance and operations to optimize the fleet for training and inference traffic, and experience with Python to automate away repetitive tasks and facilitate their daily job working with and analyzing large sets of data.

We are looking for someone who is highly motivated and focused on engineering excellence, with a strong sense of ownership and initiative. The ability to concisely and accurately share knowledge with teammates is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and operate large-scale networks that support AI training and inference workloads
  • Create a portfolio of metrics for performance and operations to optimize the fleet
  • Automate away repetitive tasks using Python
  • Work closely with the wider team to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience designing and operating large-scale networks
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Ethernet AI/HPC space
  • Deep understanding of congestion control on Ethernet and Infiniband
  • Expertise in creating metrics portfolios for performance and operations
  • Experience with Python programming language
