The Opportunity
You will lead a team of engineers and contribute to the development of innovative, sustainable mechanical solutions that incorporate net-zero carbon principles, embodied carbon analysis, and circular economy strategies. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Arup, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and delivering complex building services projects.
- Developing mechanical solutions that minimize environmental impact.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
- Mentoring junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
- Overseeing contractor coordination, ensuring successful delivery and commissioning of mechanical installations.
We are looking for someone with technical expertise and passion for sustainable building design. Essential skills and qualifications for this position include:
- A minimum of 8 years of post-qualification design experience, most of which within a consultancy environment.
- Experience in the Irish market (or in the UK).
We also value:
- Chartered Engineer status (or near chartered) with a proven track record in delivering innovative mechanical engineering solutions.
- Strong knowledge of Irish building regulations (including BCAR) and relevant industry standards.
- Experience managing contractors and overseeing on-site work, including commissioning and maintenance considerations.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
