Senior Imaging Physicist

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Imaging Physicist to join our team and contribute to the development of high-quality, safe, and value-conscious healthcare services.

Job Description:

The post holder will be responsible for providing scientific, technical, and business support in the provision of radiation physics services, particularly in relation to radiation protection advisory support. This will include teaching, research, and service developments.

The post holder will engage with the relevant Principal Physicist or their designate to provide high-quality services offered by the department, working in close cooperation with clinical disciplines.

The post holder will be required to demonstrate a good business approach to the delivery of services, a good knowledge of medical physics and clinical engineering, and effective planning and organizing skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the provision of a medical physics service to imaging and radiation physics, including scientific and technical support required in Radiation Protection and Diagnostic Radiology Services.
  • Develop relationships with radiology stakeholders to continuously market and promote the potential for leading and contributing to health service improvements.
  • Participate in quality assurance protocols for the imaging and ionising radiation equipment infrastructure, to ensure integrity of the associated clinical processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a recognised first or second class honours degree in Physics, or possess equivalent qualifications. They must also possess the requisite knowledge and ability for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.

Candidates should have experience in the fields of medical imaging and quality assurance programs, and demonstrate good communication skills.
