About the Role
The University Hospital Waterford is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Manager 2 to join our Bed Management team. As a key member of the hospital's leadership, this individual will be responsible for coordinating and managing all admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior nurse managers, ward managers, and other healthcare professionals. They will also possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex patient flow issues and develop effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize bed utilization and improve patient flow within the hospital.
- Collaborate with senior nurse managers and ward managers to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and services.
- Maintain accurate records and reports on patient flow, bed utilization, and other relevant metrics.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance patient flow and bed utilization.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a clinical management or leadership role in a hospital setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior nurse managers, ward managers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex patient flow issues and develop effective solutions.
