Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in steel frame projects to lead our design team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and assessing design information, developing design ideas, and communicating with engineers and architects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Review and Development: Review and assess design information, including drawings and specifications from Design Teams.
  • Design Calculations: Develop design ideas and structural design calculations.
  • Communication: Communicate with engineers and architects when preparing drawings and designs.
  • Drawing Preparation: Draft marked-up drawings to illustrate designs for our team of detailers.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with external consultants, design teams, and clients.
  • Site Inspections: Undertake site inspections, site meetings, and online meetings regularly.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other job-related duties as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Level 8 Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience, preferably in an Engineering Design Office; site work experience is also valuable.
  • Project Experience: Experience with steel frame projects is ideal.
  • Design Standards: Full working knowledge of Eurocode Design Standards for Steel and good knowledge of Concrete Eurocode Design Standards.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in structural engineering design software, including Masterseries, Tekla Structural Designer, Idea Statica, or similar.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from Project Lead Engineers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Self-motivated with great attention to detail.
