Leadership Role: Production Team Manager

Job Overview

This is a leadership role that involves managing production employees to achieve key business objectives such as product quality, order fulfilment, operational excellence, labour efficiency, health and safety, and effective team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the production team to achieve production targets/key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Maintain excellent standards of Good Manufacturing Practice and Good Housekeeping Practice
  • Monitor and control costs
  • Ensure safe working practices and conduct of the team, contractors, and visitors
  • Ensure team members are properly trained and managed to work in a safe, quality-conscious, and effective way
  • Maintain positive working relationships and ensure effective communication at all levels
  • Maintain all work areas and equipment within your control are regularly and properly maintained to deliver optimum performance
  • Drive initiatives to maximise employee contribution and drive improvements in product quality and process/system efficiencies
  • Liaise with quality assurance and quality control teams to achieve optimum results
  • Interface with human resources in relation to employee performance/development and any employee relations issues
  • Update relevant HR systems as required

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Cover for the production manager when absent and support the production manager in other areas of production
  • Contribute to the overall department performance plan in the areas of safety, quality, cost, delivery, motivation, and environment
  • Drive correct usage, maintenance, and development of all production systems

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a management/supervisory role in a manufacturing industry
  • Third-level qualification in a related field is desirable
  • Experience with SAP/MES/Scada highly desirable
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Office is required
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
