Support Worker Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Support Worker.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about providing care and support to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing person-centred care and support to residents in a residential setting.
  • Assisting residents with their daily living skills, such as personal care and meal preparation.
  • Supporting residents with their individual goals and education.
  • Participating in the on-floor duty team and being responsible for coordination of the shift and supervision of other staff.

You will work collaboratively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team in service delivery to residents.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as key worker for named Resident where appropriate.
  • Providing support to residents with their daily plan.
  • Supporting residents with their individual goals and education.
  • Assisting residents with living skills (e.g., cooking, cleaning, laundry, attending appointments, family visits).
  • Reporting to the person in charge and working collaboratively as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team in service delivery to residents.
Requirements:
  • Candidates must hold a qualification at Level 7 or above that meets the criteria to be registered as a Support Worker.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance practices and their application to service provision.
  • Experience working in a residential, respite, or day service setting with persons with an intellectual disability.
  • Knowledge of Person Centred Planning.
  • Knowledge of both clinical and human resource policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
  • Knowledge of National Disability Standards.
