Role Overview

A comprehensive specialist assessment role within a Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team, suitable for Educational, Clinical or Counselling Psychologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive specialist assessments of individuals with suspected neurodevelopmental conditions, including diagnostic assessments and mental health evaluations.
  • Undertake assessments on behalf of the HSE and write up timely, professional assessment reports providing appropriate recommendations and interventions.
  • Depending on experience, supervise and support junior staff members in conducting assessments and writing reports.
Required Qualifications
  • A recognised University degree or diploma (NQAI Level 8 equivalent) with psychology as a major subject and honours in that subject.
  • A postgraduate professional psychological qualification recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical or Counselling Psychology OR a postgraduate professional psychology qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
  • Must be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Experience in conducting diagnostic Neurodevelopmental/ Specialist developmental assessments with children.
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools for Autism, ADHD and learning disability.
  • ADOS-2/ ADI-R trained.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
