Clinical Specialist in Speech and Language Therapy

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Specialist in Speech and Language Therapy to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in speech and language therapy, with experience in working with clients with ENT-related disorders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive specialist assessment, treatment, and information regarding communication and swallowing abilities of individuals, ensuring full client and family involvement.
  • Manage and run the SLT led parallel clinic in ENT in conjunction with relevant ENT consultants and SLT manager.
  • Develop skills required to provide a specialist innovative service and advance SLT practice as appropriate.
  • Manage an outpatient Voice and/or ENT outpatient caseload for patients requiring specific intervention in an acute care setting.
  • Lead the development of innovations in quality standards and clinical effectiveness in the clinical area.
  • Manage and prioritize complex and specialized caseload relating to ENT related disorders according to need and departmental guidelines.
  • Take a lead role in demonstrating clinical effectiveness through evidence-based practice.

The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, managing their own workload and prioritizing tasks accordingly. They will also be required to maintain accurate records and participate in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practice.

Requirements:

  • Statutory Registration as a Speech & Language Therapist with CORU.
  • 5 years full-time post-qualification clinical experience in the required area of specialism.
  • Demonstrated clinical excellence in the specialism, with achievements in clinical audit, quality improvement initiatives, practice development, teaching, and research.
  • Annual registration on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by CORU.
  • Good character and fitness to practice.
