Senior Rail Professional - Strategic Infrastructure Development

We are seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Consultant with rail industry expertise to support our consultancy team in Ireland. This role offers a great opportunity for career progression in Ireland's thriving rail sector.

You will join a growing team supporting Irish Rail, NTA, DoT, DfI, and EIB in improving rail services across Ireland, with opportunities to collaborate on UK & international projects. Responsibilities include strategy development, business and appraisal of rail schemes, and delivering rail infrastructure projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage small projects, with opportunities to lead large projects with support from the team.
  • Provide advisory services on rail benefits in land use, transport planning, mobility hubs, and transit-oriented developments.
  • Participate actively in meetings with clients, stakeholders, and partners, focusing on solutions through consensus.
  • Collaborate to ensure project objectives are met, and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Prepare technical documents and reports, including design deliverables, with support from engineering specialists as needed.
Key Requirements
  • Hold a Level 8 degree in civil engineering or a related field; a Master's Degree (Level 9) is preferred but not essential.
  • Progressing towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) MIEI or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Proven ability to prepare scheme option selection reports aligned with Transport Appraisal Framework or similar guidance.
  • Ability to monitor and manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience supporting schemes through Railway Order or Transport and Works Act processes.
  • Knowledge of Project Supervision Design Process and/or UK CDM 2015 Regulations.
  • An understanding of the relationship between rail service timetabling, demand, and infrastructure capacity is advantageous.
