The Role

This exciting opportunity as an EHS Engineer at our Cork site will see you reporting directly to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager. As part of our dedicated team, you will be responsible for leading and implementing high EHS standards and influencing a proactive EHS operating culture across the site.

Duties:

1. You will interpret all regulatory changes and provide guidance and direction to Cork site operations to ensure full compliance with Health and Safety legislation, IE Licensing and ISO45001/ISO14001 Standard.
2. Provide EHS support to a dedicated site Operation to ensure compliance with Lower Tier SEVESO and ATEX requirements.
3. Perform EHS assessment/approval of all process and equipment changes for the Operation.
4. Maintain relationships with the EHS team, Operational Area Managers, and Functional Managers to develop and implement EHS strategies.
5. Work closely with Regulatory Authorities, external and internal key stakeholders, and the local management team.
6. Seek out opportunities to continuously improve a proactive EHS operating culture.
7. Involvement in site and EHS Goals & Objectives, Corporate Responsibility/Sustainability goals.
8. Lead Audits and Inspections, compiling EHS metrics and KPIs data, trending for Corporate EHS and site Management.
9. Maintain EHS systems (including Chemical Management System, Accident/Incident reporting system, Occupational monitoring, etc.) and lead/participate in Root Cause Investigations as required.
10. Completion of Risk Assessments in conjunction with area experts as required.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

1. Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent, minimum 3 years post-qualification experience required.
2. Extensive experience within a regulated manufacturing environment, Life Science or Pharmaceutical experience is desirable.
3. Strong experience in chemical management system and machine safety and/or regulatory/IE Licensing desirable.
4. Leadership & organizational skills with the ability to influence and motivate colleagues to achieve high performance.
5. Highly motivated with a passion for EHS to continuously improve EHS performance by implementing new and innovative ideas.
6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Competent user of Microsoft packages.
