About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Cogito Administrator to configure, maintain, and optimize the Cogito reporting databases to align with our environment strategy.

In this role, you will engage in capacity planning to ensure sufficient system resources, monitor database size and health, and create plans for statistics and index maintenance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Complete all required job training, including Epic certification, within six months of employment and keep certifications up-to-date
  • Configure and maintain the Cogito databases according to the environment strategy
  • Engage in capacity planning exercises to ensure adequate system resources
  • Understand performance metrics, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues
  • Manage logins for different types of access, including login behavior and working environment configuration
  • Apply RDMS upgrades and updates to production and non-production environments
  • Perform database backups and verify restores
  • Participate in Change Control processes for all planned applications and technical activities
  • Communicate Epic database changes to necessary teams across the enterprise
  • Work closely with other databases, environment/infrastructure and internal/external enterprise security teams
  • Provide on-call support for production performance/availability or other critical issues

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree Qualified in a relevant field (Data Science or STEM subject) or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of database operating systems
  • Technically experienced in MS SQL Server analytical database platforms
  • Ability to create, understand, and follow processes to ensure successful execution of critical maintenance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Epic Systems
  • RDBMS Certification preferably Microsoft SQL Server
