As a Project Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals who require assistance to sustain their tenancy in the community. This full-time position involves working closely with Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT) to provide intensive tenancy support to mental health service users, many of whom may be homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide support to users of mental health services who have housing support needs.
- Collaborate with CMHTs as an integrated team member to enhance support related to housing needs.
- Visit individuals in their local community and, where appropriate, in their own homes.
- Manage the support packages for individuals identified by CMHTs as requiring Tenancy Support and Settlement Services.
- Assist and manage clients' tenancy and housing needs, making onward referrals as necessary.
- Help service users manage tenancy-related issues.
- Establish links with local services, community groups, and work closely with housing providers or landlords where appropriate.
- Respond appropriately to situations involving child protection and welfare concerns.
- Conduct regular reviews of clients' wellbeing, social engagement, and active citizenship.
- Work with a client-centered approach, promoting autonomy and independence based on recovery principles.
- Maintain ongoing communication with your Manager.
- Participate in regular supervision sessions with your designated supervisor.
- Work under the supervision of line management within the project and report to governance structures.
- Comply with all relevant policies, including Child Protection, Confidentiality, Customer Complaints, Health and Safety, and Personnel policies.
- Keep accurate records and statistics as per organizational policies.
- Develop resource materials on local services.
- Supervise volunteers, students, or support staff when required.
- Participate in project review, evaluation, and development.
- Engage in relevant training, including Recovery in Mental Health courses.
- Attend and contribute to team, section, and agency meetings.
- Prepare regular reports for supervision and management.
- Work cooperatively with other divisions regarding organizational procedures and policies.
- Align work with overall objectives and Mid-West Mental Health Service goals.
