Senior Principal Front End Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Front End Design Engineer to join our team in Cork City, Ireland.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for developing leading edge Intellectual Property (IP) for various High-Tech Markets.
  • You will be part of an experienced Controller IP Team with established development sites in Europe, US, and India.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership for complex IP such as Ethernet, Storage, PCIe/CXL, MIPI-Visual.
  • Collaborate with system architects and product managers to define architecture and specifications on standards like Ethernet 802.3, considering factors like data rate, power consumption, and compatibility with industry standards.
  • Lead the development of RTL, Testbenches & FPGA Platforms.
  • Plan activities and milestones for Digital Controller Development teams.
  • Lead cross-functional technical meetings with Analog & Software counterparts.
  • Support customer pre-sales and post-sales meetings.
  • Participate in Technical Review Meetings and Checklist Reviews as part of ISO-9001.
  • Represent Cadence in Standards Body Working Groups e.g. IEEE, PCI-SIG, JEDEC, MIPI.
  • Present at Industry Conferences like IEEE, DAC, MIPI Alliance.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, or related discipline.
  • 10-15 years' experience in microelectronics/EDA industry.
  • Experience of Verilog RTL Design essential.
  • Experience of Metric Driven Verification (MDV) essential.
  • Experience of Front-end design tools covering LINT, Synthesis, CDC Analysis essential.
  • Experience of SoC Architecture and Development essential.
  • Experience of Technical Team leadership essential.
  • Excellent oral and written English essential.
  • Self-motivated with excellent planning, interpersonal, and communication skills.
