Addiction Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Addiction Support Specialist to join our team, someone who shares our passion for delivering exceptional services that make a real difference in people's lives.

As an Addiction Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing a range of rehabilitation and aftercare supports to clients, including education, information, advocacy, and treatment support. You will also target, engage, and establish relationships with local drug and/or alcohol users to link them into relevant services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized care plans based on comprehensive assessments of client needs
  • Delivering evidence-based interventions using models such as CBT, MI, and Harm Reduction
  • Working closely with community, voluntary, and statutory services to ensure clients access support for housing, employment, and education
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including General Practitioners, primary healthcare, psychiatric services, and other agencies

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 7 qualification in Addiction/Social Care/Social Studies, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
  • At least 1 year's frontline experience working with people who use drugs and alcohol
  • Knowledge of evidence-based approaches, including Harm Reduction, CRA, CBT, SMART Recovery
  • Familiarity with National Drug & Alcohol Strategy and National Drug Rehabilitation Framework
  • A full driving license
