Baker

As a Baker at our award-winning hotel, you will be responsible for creating fresh, exceptional breads, scones, and classic baked goods daily. This role involves supporting pastry production and ensuring menu excellence in a highly-regarded, people-centric environment.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar baking or pastry position, preferably in a high-volume or artisanal kitchen. A strong background and keen interest in pastry and baking, along with formal qualifications in pastry, are desirable. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence, standards-driven, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the production of pastries and desserts, ensuring all meet menu requirements.
  • Bake and present a variety of breads, scones, muffins, and other bakery items from scratch each day.
  • Stay informed about the day's business, menu, and any specials, participating actively in menu planning.
  • Prepare all dishes efficiently and ensure every item leaving the kitchen meets approved standards of presentation.
  • Minimize waste, observe portion control, and operate in a cost-effective, responsible manner.
  • Maintain outstanding food hygiene and safety standards from storage through service, with full HACCP compliance throughout the kitchen and food & beverage outlets.
  • Keep kitchen equipment in good working order and promptly report any maintenance issues to your supervisor.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar baking or pastry position, ideally in a high-volume or artisanal kitchen.
  • Strong background and keen interest in pastry and baking; formal qualification in pastry is desirable.
  • Committed to excellence, standards-driven, and detail-oriented.
  • Courteous, customer-focused, and passionate about delivering a consistently high standard of service.
  • Able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
