Senior Software Engineer

As a seasoned Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in transforming existing functionalities into modern JSON-based services. You will work with one of our leading financial services clients to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.

This role is part of a strategic programme focused on modernizing the client's mainframe capability. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and influence architectural decisions to ensure high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust and secure Java-based applications.
  • Work with Spring and Spring Batch frameworks to deliver high-performance services.
  • Build and deploy solutions in AWS using Lambdas, EC2, and other cloud-native services.
  • Transform legacy functionalities to support mainframe modernization.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability across distributed systems.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including architects, testers, and DevOps engineers.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong expertise in Java and the Spring Framework.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Batch for large-scale data processing.
  • Solid background in AWS services, particularly Lambdas and EC2.
  • Knowledge of Serena3 (or willingness to upskill quickly).
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
  • Understanding of relational and non-relational database concepts.
