Job Description

Compass Group Ireland is currently seeking an experienced leader to fill the role of General Manager. This key position will be responsible for overseeing catering and hospitality operations at a prestigious pharmaceutical site.

The successful candidate will oversee daily operations across catering and hospitality services, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality services that meet customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of daily operations to ensure efficient service delivery
  • Maintenance of full compliance with health & safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and company policies
  • Management of financial performance through accurate budgeting, forecasting, and profit & loss management
  • Effective cost control, including labour, food, waste, agency usage, and overheads
  • Staffing planning aligned with business needs and budgetary constraints
  • Team leadership, coaching, and development to support performance, training, and career progression
  • Fostering a positive team culture that encourages collaboration, accountability, and engagement
  • Building strong client relationships through regular communication, reporting, and strategic partnership
  • Provision of exceptional customer service, resolving issues promptly and exceeding customer expectations
  • Promotion of innovation in food offering, service design, and customer experience
  • Leadership of change initiatives, including new service rollouts and continuous improvement projects
  • Representation of company values and standards as a Compass brand ambassador

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven leadership experience in foodservice or hospitality management
  • Strong commercial awareness with solid budgeting and P&L management skills
  • Passion for quality, service, and continuous improvement
  • Skill in building client relationships and leading high-performing teams
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
