Electrical Engineering Expert Wanted

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical engineering activities on a specific construction project. This involves coordinating technical design with onsite installation and commissioning.

The successful candidate will have experience working with low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) systems, primarily in building services and data centre environments. They will also have significant project engineering experience of 4 years+ with an Electrical Contractor.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading mechanical and electrical engineering contractor that employs 2,000 highly-skilled professionals across Ireland, the UK, and mainland Europe. You will have great exposure to multi-million-euro projects and opportunities to grow within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct electrical design reviews to identify design gaps and deviations or contradictions in specifications.
  • Validate cable sizing and make recommendations as necessary.
  • Evaluate and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Compile and submit electrical technical documents.
  • Manage submittals through the approvals process and track procurement and delivery of electrical equipment.
  • Attend supply chain meetings to ensure progress is monitored and maintained within the overall construction programme.
  • Update system trackers aligned with the construction schedule.
  • Collaborate with the BIM team to ensure the design is constructible and adequate space exists for installation and maintenance.
  • Liaise with the design team and supply chain to guarantee correct operation of plant on site and successful handover.
  • Perform electrical system walk-downs to ensure compliance with specifications and drawings.
  • Compile test packs, FTOP's and O&Ms and present for approval.
  • Coordinate specialist vendors during commissioning to ensure timely completion of their work.
Requirements:
  • 3rd level qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience working with LV and MV systems in building services and data centre environments.
  • Significant project engineering experience of 4 years+ with an Electrical Contractor.
  • Previous record of delivering small to medium electrical projects.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong administrative and record-keeping skills.
  • Able to plan and effectively manage projects.
