Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist Position
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team. As a key member of the team, you will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to provide specialist support to patients with complex communication and swallowing disorders.
Job Summary:This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to make a positive impact on the lives of patients with complex communication and/or swallowing disorders.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct advanced assessments, diagnoses, and individual intervention programs for patients with complex communication and/or swallowing disorders post-stroke.
- Provide specialist support and information to service users and relevant others regarding communication and/or feeding, eating drinking and swallowing disorders.
- Make highly specialist clinical decisions following assessment of complex cases.
- Engage with professional bodies and academic institutions to develop services, clinical excellence, and research.
- Develop quality improvement initiatives.
- Act as a clinical lead within the speech and language team, providing support, mentorship, and guidance to colleagues.
- A recognised qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist with registration or eligibility for same.
- A minimum of 5 years post-qualification clinical experience, with a strong background in the assessment and management of adult neurology, acute stroke, and/or stroke rehabilitation patients.
- Experience in dysphagia assessment and management, preferably with qualification.
- Excellent leadership and service development skills.
