Maintenance Manager Job Summary

A maintenance manager is sought to oversee equipment, utilities, and facility upkeep—both planned and reactive—in a leading Vaccines company based in the Northwest of Ireland.

The maintenance manager reports to the Engineering Manager and is responsible for ensuring efficient, compliant operations. This involves cross-functional collaboration and adherence to EU GMP, EHS, and company standards.

About Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the maintenance team to ensure seamless operation of equipment and facilities.

  • Schedule maintenance in advance, incorporating vendor work, EHS checks, and purchase orders to minimize downtime.

  • Coordinate with Production and QC to prevent disruptions during maintenance access, utilizing a workload planner to balance tasks across the team.

  • Evaluate and prioritize equipment, utilities, and facilities for timely maintenance, assigning work to engineers and contractors as needed.

  • Manage Work Orders in eMaint, ensuring accurate documentation and timely closure.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field required.

  • At least 5 years' experience in maintenance and people management within a GMP pharma/biotech setting.

  • Familiarity with EU GMP guidelines, particularly Annex 1 and Annex 15.

  • Proficient in CMMS systems, preferably eMaint.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills essential.

  • Awareness of utilities and cleanroom systems (e.g., HVAC, purified water, steam, compressed gases).
