An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Associate Practitioner to join our laboratory team. As an Associate Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality laboratory services, supporting the needs of our healthcare providers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in laboratory science to develop their skills and expertise, working in a dynamic environment that values teamwork and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with the laboratory team to achieve shared goals, including supporting stock management of laboratory reagents and consumables and contributing to quality management.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist medical staff with preparation work and ordering tests on the laboratory information system.
  2. Carry out biopsy transfers after receiving relevant training and competency assessments.
  3. Manage patient slides according to standard operating procedures.
  4. Ensure accurate specimen reception, matching samples and request forms correctly.
  5. Support stock management of laboratory reagents and consumables.
  6. Contribute to quality management, addressing non-conformances, and participating in compliance with international guidelines.
  7. Assist in maintaining high standards for accreditation, including ISO15189 and JCI.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience as an Associate Practitioner, Laboratory Technician, Lab Technician, Laboratory Scientist, Laboratory Assistant or in a similar role.
  2. Experience working in a laboratory setting.
  3. BSc in Biological Science, General Science, Biology, or an equivalent qualification.
  4. Ideal experience in Histopathology.
  5. Post-graduate studies in a related field preferred.
  6. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
