Job Title: Person In Charge Overview

The person responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of residential services in community settings for adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism will have a challenging role that requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Management: The person in charge will be responsible for managing a team of caregivers and ensuring they provide high-quality care.
  • Care Planning: They will develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: They will coordinate with healthcare professionals and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Compliance: They will ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in social care or nursing qualification (or equivalent) is required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience, including at least 3 years of management/supervisory experience.
  • Registration: CORU registration (or proof of registration if in the process).
Skills and Competencies:
  • Knowledge: Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices and methodologies is essential.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Supervision Skills: Ability to supervise a team and adapt to new situations is crucial.
  • Technology Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to handle additional duties and hours as required.
