Trainee Optical Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Trainee Optical Assistant. As a key member of our store team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and providing support to our customers.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about optics and is looking to develop their skills and knowledge in a fast-paced retail environment. You will work closely with our experienced Opticians and Technicians to provide a high level of care and attention to our patients.

As a Trainee Optical Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day running of the store, including dispensing glasses and contact lenses, taking payments and handling customer queries. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the latest optical technology and equipment, and develop your skills in areas such as customer service, teamwork and communication.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that all customers receive a high level of care and attention.
  • Assisting with the dispensing of glasses and contact lenses, including selecting frames and lenses, and taking payments.
  • Handling customer queries and resolving any issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Working closely with the store team to achieve sales targets and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Developing skills in areas such as customer service, teamwork and communication.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of optical terminology and concepts.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role or similar environment.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to develop skills and knowledge in optics.
