Insurance Solicitor

Overview:

The role of the insurance solicitor involves advising clients on complex legal matters related to insurance disputes, regulatory issues, and transactions. The solicitor will work closely with clients to provide strategic and commercial advice on risk, compliance, and policy interpretation under Solvency II and other regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities:

  1. Advising clients on insurance-related disputes, regulatory matters, and transactions.
  2. Handling M&A, portfolio transfers, structured reinsurance or similar transactional work.
  3. Managing complex litigation and regulatory investigations, including High Court proceedings.
  4. Drafting and reviewing a range of insurance-related agreements and regulatory submissions.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Solicitor in Ireland with 2-3 years' PQE.
  • Previous experience in insurance litigation, ideally gained in a top-tier or specialist firm.
  • Strong technical skills with excellent commercial awareness.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Solvency II.
  • Ability to manage cases independently while working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Exceptional communication and client management skills.
