Job Description

Cpl Resources is working with a leading Hospitality Group to recruit a Financial Controller for one of their hotels in Kildare.

The Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in overseeing the hotel's financial operations and performance, providing strategic guidance to the management team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing data, preparing financial reports, and providing business acumen to the General Manager and Hotel Management team.

The Financial Controller will report to the General Manager with a dotted line to the Group Chief Financial Officer, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and review the work prepared by the accounts team, including Accounts Payable/Receivable, Bookkeeping, Payroll, Cash and Bank Control, and CSO returns.
  • Manage the hotel's financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly revenue, labour, and overhead reports.
  • Perform regular financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to enhance profitability and control costs.
  • Provide timely and accurate reporting on all aspects of past and forecasted performance to the General Manager, Senior Management team, and Group Finance.
Requirements:
  • A qualified accountant with 3 years PQE and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • System experience of Sun, Sage, Opera, and Procure Wizard is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
