About the Role
  • Design and develop new features for MongoDB's database as a service offering.
  • Contribute to complex technical projects, working closely with product and design teams to consider user perspectives.
  • Collaborate with customers and support engineers to fix issues and develop our codebase.
  • Learn from and mentor other team members, joining an on-call rotation to support production services.

This role requires a skilled software engineer to work on building fault-tolerant, secure, globally distributed clusters and develop software to interface with major cloud providers for security, durability, availability, and performance.

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Skilled at writing large-scale, distributed backend systems in compiled languages (Java, C#, Go, etc.).
  • Comfortable working across the stack of a modern web application (e.g., React, TypeScript).
  • Experience with at least one major cloud provider technology.
  • Led the launch of a new module and maintained it in production.
Success Measures
  • Within 3 months, you'll have shipped code into production and collaborated with the team to solve tough problems.
  • Within 6 months, you'll have contributed to a large project.
  • Within 12 months, you'll have designed new features, led development work, and become an expert on parts of the system.
