Job Summary

The Vice President Technical - Powerplant is a key member of our technical leadership team, responsible for driving innovation and excellence in powerplant activities. This role requires a strong understanding of powerplant operations, maintenance, and engineering principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee powerplant activity relating to lease agreements, engine shop visits, and maintenance reserve claims.
  • Provide technical expertise to support the Avolon business and departments.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with MROs and OEMs.
  • Manage AOG and spare engine day-to-day activity and develop proposals for creative engine management.
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in technical functions, particularly in powerplant operations and engineering. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to articulate complex concepts and drive innovation.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Engineering Honours Degree or EASA Part 66 licensed engineer or equivalent apprenticeship.
  • Minimum five years experience in a technical function, preferably in airline, OEM, or leasing.
  • Extensive knowledge of engine types and applicable work scope planning guides.
  • Proven track record in engine MRO GTA's tendering, negotiation, and administration.

Personal Qualities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with original thought and challenge.
