**Job Title:** Senior Site Engineer

About the Role:

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and safety of all personnel on site.
  • They will also identify underground services and ground conditions affecting excavation stability and safety.
  • Maintaining records of underground services, marking them during construction, is a key responsibility.
  • The Site Engineer will verify design calculations and certificates for temporary works like scaffolds and falsework.
  • In addition, they will assume health, safety, and environmental responsibilities if the Project Manager/Site Agent is absent.
  • Familiarity with HSQE management systems and current statutory HSE legislation is essential.
  • The role requires strong communication skills to coordinate with consultants, subcontractors, site supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the workforce.
  • Additionally, the Site Engineer will plan work, organize resources to meet deadlines, and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
  • They will also resolve technical issues with stakeholders and authorities.
  • Quality control according to procedures and plans is a critical aspect of this position.
  • A Master's degree in engineering or equivalent experience, preferably with modules in Water/Wastewater, is required.
  • Membership in a relevant Professional Institution is also necessary.
  • Relevant experience through work or volunteer placements, with a commitment to safety and environmental responsibility, is expected.
  • Fluent English language skills, with excellent written and spoken communication skills, are essential.
