EHS Officer

Role Overview:

  • As an Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) professional, you will be responsible for fostering a proactive safety culture within our organisation.

You will work closely with internal teams to ensure environmental compliance and implement best practices across the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Protocols

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that safety protocols on the production floor are followed.

This includes managing compliance for machinery safety, promoting correct use of PPE and ergonomic practices, and leading emergency preparedness initiatives including drills and first-aid training.

Environmental Compliance

You will be responsible for liaising with relevant environmental and safety bodies, implementing sustainable waste reduction and recycling initiatives, supporting energy and water efficiency projects, and ensuring compliance with environmental licences and legislation.

  • Liaise with relevant environmental and safety bodies (e.g., EPA, HSA).

ISO Standards and Compliance

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting regular EHS audits and inspections, supporting and maintaining compliance with ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 standards, and ensuring adherence to national and international regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, EHS, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years' relevant EHS experience, preferably within a manufacturing or FMCG setting.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a full driver's licence and own transport due to site location.
