Job Title: Night Porter

Job Description:

The primary objective of the Night Porter is to ensure a seamless and efficient overnight experience for our guests.

This involves conducting regular security checks, performing fire safety inspections, and maintaining a clean and organized environment throughout the night.


Responsibilities:
  1. Arrive on time, dressed neatly in a full uniform, well-groomed, with a name badge, and present a professional appearance to our guests.
  2. Receive a thorough handover from the Daily Porters, Receptionists, and Manager on duty to ensure a smooth transition of tasks.
  3. Complete docket checks as necessary and inform the early Duty Manager of any discrepancies or issues.
  4. Carry out security/fire checks at designated intervals (e.g., 12 am, 2 am, 4 am, and 6 am) and log any irregularities in the Handover book, reporting them to the Duty Manager.
  5. Efficiently check-in/out guests during hours of duty and ensure their luggage is brought/collected quickly.
  6. Deal with guest enquiries/needs promptly and effectively, providing excellent customer service.
  7. Carry out any Lounge/Room Service Orders required after 11 pm to an agreed standard, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food preparation areas.
  8. Collect Breakfast cards while conducting floor checks and prepare and deliver Room Service accordingly.
  9. Ensure that any early breakfasts are delivered to guests on time and to the desired standard.
  10. Cover Bar Service once bar staff has left, ensuring correct and diligent cash and stock procedures.
  11. Perform cleaning duties according to the night cleaning schedule, maintaining a tidy and organized environment.
  12. Clean public areas as assigned by management, adhering to high standards of cleanliness.
  13. Maintain the Premier Lounge, replenishing stock as needed, and ensuring it remains clean and welcoming.
  14. Keep the Reception desk and office clean and tidy, reflecting positively on the hotel's image.
  15. Refresh and prepare meeting rooms as required, checking equipment is functioning correctly.
  16. Clean public bathroom areas, ensuring they remain hygienic and well-maintained.
  17. Ensure front areas of the hotel are tidy, cleared of debris, and clean, presenting a positive first impression.
  18. If necessary, set up meeting rooms to the agreed standard, verifying all equipment is correct and in working order.
  19. Regularly check the fax machine to ensure guests receive faxes or messages promptly.
  20. Complete a full report of night shift events in the diary and hand over any problems/incidents to the Duty Manager, Receptionist, or Day Porter on duty prior to leaving.
  21. Additional and reasonable duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate by management.
