Job Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Laboratory Supervisor to lead and develop our Environmental Laboratory in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wastewater and domestic water analysis, specific expertise in inorganic chemistry, and experience managing a small team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all Environmental Laboratory activities to ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standards.
  • Coordinate daily laboratory activities and prioritize tasks to optimize workflow and efficiency.
  • Support the Environment Laboratory with testing of samples, recording, and reporting of results, in an efficient manner according to existing procedures and ISO standards.
  • Develop and implement laboratory protocols for wastewater and domestic water testing to maximize efficiencies, in line with Industry standards.
  • Drive improvements in lab processes and workflows through innovative solutions.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and paperwork in accordance with documented procedures.
  • Ensure daily checks and calibrations of laboratory equipment are performed and recorded.
  • Develop and update in-house laboratory procedures as appropriate.
  • Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal functioning and availability.
  • Manage, mentor, and supervise environmental lab team members.
  • Actively participate in internal audits and safety lab walkthroughs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide expert insights and support, identifying and making recommendations for improvements as part of the team within or outside the department to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene within the laboratory.
  • Support all other ongoing laboratory functions and requirements.
  • Support and comply with safety and compliance initiatives on site.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.

  • Good analytical skills with an acute attention to detail.
  • Capable of planning, executing, and delivering on procedures within specified timeframes.
  • A collaborative approach.
  • Strong people management skills with the ability to mentor and coach team members.
  • Proven experience driving change.
  • Highly organized and able to work on own initiative.
  • Good communication skills (verbal & written). Fluent English speaker.
  • Professional attitude and respect customer confidentiality at all times.
  • This role requires initiative and the ability to bring specialized knowledge to the team.
