Strategic Vendor Relationship Manager

This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape and deliver on a strategy for optimizing vendor relationships.

About the Role

As a Strategic Vendor Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of managing vendor relationships with Amazon.

You will engage directly with internal teams to optimize product lines for key manufacturers (vendors) on Amazon.com.

In this role, you will focus on strategic and operational aspects of managing customer relationships with our vendors.

You will conceive, create, and analyze scalable opportunities to improve efficiency in retail operations.

The position involves analyzing issues and opportunities affecting the vendor's business and developing strategies to address them.

You will also be responsible for team deliverables, talent development, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Succeeding in this role will be measured by the performance of your internal teams on input metrics and impact on creating a great customer experience.
  • Partner with the Vendor Management Team to manage the VM relationship.
  • Build communication channels at all levels, set expectations, provide clear status updates, and manage towards a growth plan for the program.
  • Buid and execute a strategic account plan that delivers on key business opportunities for Amazon.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve operational aspects of their business in providing a great experience.
  • Conduct deep dive analysis on handled issues and publish recommendations to vendors.
  • Provide thought leadership around planning, roadmaps, and execution.
  • Establish long-term partnerships with key vendor partners.
  • Support the launches of new programs, categories, and features.
  • Manage team metrics (productivity, image/video coverage, quality score, etc.).
  • Implement process improvements and Kaizen to enhance upstream and downstream processes.
  • Oversee people management (recruiting, resource utilization, individual performance, floor control, retention).
  • Lead transition project management (opportunity seeking, requirement analysis, solution development, presentation, resource/cost/time planning, and management).

Qualifications and Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 2+ years of program or project management experience.
  • 2+ years of team management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience leading process improvements.
  • Knowledge of databases (querying and analyzing), such as SQL, MySQL, and ETL Manager, and working with large data sets.
  • Familiarity with Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma concepts.
  • Experience managing critical operational processes with SLA responsibility.
