About the Role

As an Early Years Educator, you will be responsible for creating a safe and stimulating environment for children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with the team to ensure high standards of quality and safety in the childcare setting.
  • Act as a key worker to specified children, providing individualized care and support.
  • Plan and implement daily developmental activities that enhance children's natural growth and development.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and safety in the Crèche.
  • Guide, observe, stimulate, and supervise children in a safe and caring environment.

Caring for Children

  • Be attentive to the children in your care, dealing with issues promptly and professionally.
  • Communicate effectively with children at their level, providing personal care as needed.
  • Carry out planned and unplanned observations to inform child-centered practice.
  • Encourage good eating habits and promote healthy lifestyles.

Professional Development

  • Participate in first aid training, fire safety, and manual handling courses as required.
  • Undertake additional training if requested by the Manager to enhance professional development.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to discussions on childcare and education.

Requirements

  • FETAC Level 6 Childcare qualification or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and non-verbal.
  • A strong desire to work with children in an early-years setting and a commitment to child-centered care.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of the organisation and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English.
  • Garda vetting clearance.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year's previous experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Working knowledge of Aistear & Síolta programme.
  • First Aid skills/training.
  • Level 8 qualification in Early Childhood, Teaching and Learning.
