Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Privacy Specialist to support our core privacy compliance operations. This role involves implementing the company's Privacy Program, ensuring compliance with relevant privacy and data protection laws. The successful candidate will manage personal data protection issues, maintain data inventories, perform privacy risk assessments, handle data subject rights requests, and advise on data protection queries.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Data Protection Officer in implementing the Privacy Program
- Advise the company and employees on obligations under global privacy laws
- Manage privacy risk assessments, including impact assessments and third-party privacy risk evaluations
- Handle requests from individuals regarding their personal data and exercise of their rights
- Support management of requests from supervisory authorities
- Maintain records of processing activities and purposes
- Collaborate across teams to ensure privacy compliance
- Monitor effectiveness of privacy controls and data privacy technologies
- Assess legal and regulatory changes impacting privacy
- Act as contact for auditors
- Develop and maintain privacy risk frameworks in collaboration with teams
- Coordinate with information security to manage privacy incidents
- Create privacy training and awareness content
- Review and advise on data sharing and processing agreements
- Advise stakeholders on data protection queries

Knowledge and Skills

- Strong understanding of global data protection laws, including GDPR and privacy requirements in financial services
- 8+ years experience in privacy compliance or related functions, with managing privacy risk assessments
- Experience advising stakeholders on privacy issues
- Degree in law, data protection, business, security, or related field preferred; professional certifications like CIPP/E, CIPM preferred
- Understanding of AI, privacy-enhancing technologies, security concepts, and data protection obligations
- Knowledge of privacy contractual arrangements and data transfer agreements
- Problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into solutions
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of privacy by design and data ethics principles
- Ability to work independently and in teams
